Moss New President of NY Sheriff Association
ELMIRA (WENY) -- Sheriff Moss will be serving as president of the New York State Sheriff's Association and he already has some things underway on his agenda.
He was elected during the association's winter training conference last week and will serve for a year.
Moss says he'll continue to advocate for revisions on the SAFE act and further training and accreditation programs for offices across the state.
"We're working on a heroin program that's basically a community awareness program. There's been a scurge of heroin overdoses throughout the state the state, so I'll be working with my fellow sheriffs on that."
The New York State Sheriffs' Association was formed in the 1930's all to help Sheriff's offices provide better services in law enforcement.
