New Ithaca Trash Tags

     Ithaca (WENY) -- Trash tags are going up to balance the budget of the solid waste fund, according to city leaders.  Tags are valid for trash cans and bags weighing 35 pounds.

      Customers can use their old supply of old (purple) tags through the month of January, 2014.  Effective February 1, 2014 customes will be expected to use the new (orange) tags.  Unused tags can be turned in at the City Chamberlain's office for credit against the new tags or for a refund.

       Trash tags can be purchased at:

- Agway Farm and Home Center, 213 S. Fulton Street

- Campus Store, Cornell University Campus

- Greenstar Co-op Market, 701 W. Buffalo Street

- Jason's Deli, 301 College Avenue

- Oasis, Dewitt Mall

- P & C Fresh, East Hill Plaza

- P & C, 212 Hancock Street

- Pete's, 805 W. Buffalo Street

- Top's, 614 S. Meadow Street

- Wegman's, 500 S. Meadow Street
