New Troy Community Hospital
TROY, PA (WENY) -- Troy is getting a big upgrade in healthcare.
Guthrie Health unveiled its new Troy Community hospital Friday morning. Staff and services from the old downtown hospital will move to the new facility on the hill.
The $30.8 million hospital is 55,000 square feet, and includes 25 private inpatient rooms, expanded outpatient services, an emergency department and technology upgrades. The hospital also now has a helipad.
"The hospital in downtown has been there for more than 50 years. It was built at a time when technology wasn't what it is today. This hospital is built with the size and infrastructure to meet modern medical needs," explained Guthrie Health CEO, Joseph Scopeletti.
There's a community open house Saturday afternoon from 2 to 5pm. The hospital opens to patients October 12th.
