New Elmira Heights Playground
The Elmira Heights Rotary Club donated the new equipment and dedicated it in honor of the club's 85th anniversary.
Festivities included a free cookout and live music, and children had fun on the new playground.
"I drive by here every day because I live up the hill," said Elmira Heights Mayor Margaret Smith. "I see young families here with young children on that playground all day long, on and off, and it is a great addition to this park."
"It's fantastic to give back to the community," said Jim Dix, president of the Elmira Heights Rotary Club. "Rotary is an international organization. This is our visibility in the town of Elmira Heights."
Since 1992, the Elmira Heights Rotary Club has remodeled Oakridge park, building a bandstand, pavillion, clock and now the play area.
