Charity Gala To Raise Money For Falck Cancer Center Patients
HORSEHEADS (WENY) - The second annual Paint the Night Pink charity gala is coming up on Saturday February 25th.
The event raises money for the Falck Cancer Center's Patients Services Fund. The fund helps patients with out-of-pocket expenses that may come up while they're going through treatment. All the money stays local.
"It can be anything from a bill, their rent, an electric bill that needs to be paid," Event organizer Alisa Parmenter said. "It could be looking after their pets if they're being hospitalized or sick, extra care in the home, travel to and from treatment...so it's a really nice resource and it's things insurance wouldn't cover."
Last year, the gala raised almost $16,000 dollars!
This year's theme is "A Rainbow of Hope", to represent the many different colors associated with cancer.
Parmenter says guests are encouraged to wear a color that may be significant to them or their family, to represent a cancer they may have been affected by. Formal attire is requested.
Parmenter says the event will be jam-packed with entertainment and fun. There will be lots of food from local vendors, beer and wine tasting, a silent auction, live music from Matrix Flute and Guitar Duo and Steve Terwilliger and his band, aerial silk artists, fashion shows from local youth cheerleaders and looks from local boutique Glamour & Glow, and more.
The event is Saturday February 25, 2017, at the Wings of Eagles Discovery Center in Horseheads, from 6:00 - 10:00 PM.
Tickets cost $65 per person or $120 per couple.
