Patterson Bridge Project in Corning on Schedule
CORNING, NY (WENY) -- New York's Department of Transporation gave an update on the status of Patterson bridge reconstruction project in Corning.
Contractors started setting steel beams for the new Patterson Bridge over the Chemung River. The bridge was completely shut down and demolished over the past few months. The bridge carries Route 352 from the city of Corning to the village of Riverside.
According to the DOT, the project is on track to be finished before Memorial Day 2014. Before it closed, the bridge carried about 17,000 cars a day.
