Over $22,000 raised for local charities and businesses
Southport (WENY)-- One franchise is giving away thousands of dollars to local business and charities that they raised... with spare change.
The Raising Dough for Kids program started 10 years ago. This year, the Greater Elmira Pizza Huts raised over $22,000.
"As long as it's a kid oriented program that they are administering then we are able to distribute to them" says Pizza Hut Marketing Manager Jessica Woodburn. Rebecca Frank from Chemung ARC says "my supervisor, Craig Menning, wrote the grant and a year from now we'll tell you how two of those pizza beds did in our garden.
About $2,000 more were raised this year than in 2011. Over $717,000 has been donated to Buffalo, Elmira, and Jamestown from this program since 2002.
