Reed Faces New Challenges in NYS 23rd Congressional District
"Legs are under us it's time to move forward"
(WENY)-- Congressman Tom Reed is ready to get to work in the newly drawn 23rd Congressional District. Reed says that representing the 29th Congressional for two years has prepared him to represent a district that's 45% bigger.
One of the new challenges Reed faces is whether or not to save the coal fired NRG power plant in Chautauqua County.
Reed told us that the bottom line of this election is that Americans come together.
In his weekly address to the media, Reed told us "people are very passionate on each side of the aisle for their philosophies and belief systems. But at the end of the day, we all have to recognize that we're Americans. And it doesn't matter what party you are in, Democrat or Republican, we are all Americans and we need to stand up for Lady America now".
The new 23rd Congressional district takes effect on January 3rd.
