BATH, NY (WENY) -- The man accused of trying to kill two New York state troopers last year is guilty of attempted murder.
A Steuben County jury convicted Richard Vangorden of two counts of attempted murder of a police officer, along with tampering with physical evidence, reckless endangerment, criminal use of a firearm, and criminal possession of a weapon.
VanGorden fired shots at state troopers following a high-speed chase in Hornellsville in September of last year. He was arrested later that day, after a standoff at a Steuben County trailer park.
VanGorden faces life in prison when he's sentenced in January.
