Winnie Romeril In NYC
Report From An American Red Cross Volunteer
(WENY)--We also talked to Winnie Romeril, the local "go-there" girl for the American Red Cross. Winnie saw the damage first hand from the earthquake in Haiti and the Joplin tornado. Here's just a taste of when she's seeing in New York City.
In a phone interview, Winnie told us "there's always people who will say ya ya ya I can handle it. It's those people who are being plucked off their roof tops. And some of them we may never find. And when people make these kinds of decisions on their own instead of playing it safe. It's better to play it safe and have it be a non-event than your family not be able to find you after".
