Students Let Their Hair Down For A Good Cause

March 15, 2013

Elmira (WENY) -- Students and teachers at Southside High let their hair down and braved the clippers to raise money and awareness for people with cancer. "Goin' Bald for Bucks" was hosted by the school's Key club and future business leaders of america. Crowds packed the school gym to go support their classmates who went bald to raise bucks. Local beauticians litterally lined up to give the kids and teachers their dramatic new look.
"It was definitely a last minute decision. I didn't think I was gonna go through with it at all but i am happy I did," said Emily Bunnell a senior at Southside High.
10th grader Domnick Clark added, "it's just a good cause for cancer awareness and I think it's just a good thing for the community."
The money raised today will go to the Roswell Park Cancer Institute and local families. Head to weny.com and click on this story for a link to donate to the Southside team.
