Tom Reed On Syria
BIG FLATS---(WENY) President Obama is calling on congress to vote on action in Syria. And, Congressman Tom Reed is calling on his constituents to get their voices heard.
At the first in a series of town hall meetings, Congressman Reed came to Big Flats to hear what people had to say about the possibility of military action in Syria.
He gave people in the audience a copy of the resolution from the White House which he will have to vote on. Most people at the meeting felt the US should not get involved.
Congressman Reed says, "That will allow us to get all the information out to the public to the world and also have a better opportunity to be successful and that success how are we going to stabilize the region and secure these chemical weapons and mitigate the risks of them being used against Americans and American interests."
| Reed is also holding town meetings in Hornell, Olean, and Dunkirk on Wednesday. He expects some debate in congress, and a vote sometime next week.
