BIG FLATS (WENY)-- After a long night of trick or treating kids just want to eat their halloween candy as fast as possible.

However, it's important to check the candy first and urgent care in Big Flats is making it easier for parents to make sure the candy is safe.

Technicians at urgent care used their X-ray machines to check bags full of candy. The facility was open for kids and families most of the night.

Technicians made sure the halloween candy collected is safe and they checked for any unforseen objects.

X-Ray Tech, Ian Taylor says, "It's kind of a fun thing the kids really like to do it. When your young you don't really understand how X-rays work so you can put that learning aspect to it. On top of that, it's a community saftey effort where anything metal in the candy will show up like a fire work so you can never be too safe."

Also,  don't worry about the radiation, 5-star says it's a very small amount and poseses no harm to kids eating the candy.
