Watkins Glen School District Employee Charged
WATKINS GLEN, NY (WENY) -- Watkins Glen Police arrested a school district employee this morning, after an incident.
Fifty year old Kathryn Bartholomew of Montour Falls is charged with Criminal Possession of a Weapon, and Endangering the Welfare of a Child.
Police arrested Bartholomew, after investigating a report of a Watkins Glen High School Student possessing a stun gun on a school bus. It is not clear the relationship between Bartholomew, the student and the weapon.
School District Superintendent Tom Phillips issued a statement this afternoon, saying:
"According to Superintendent Tom Phillips, the Watkins Glen Central School District is cooperating with the Watkins Glen Village Police Department regarding this morning's incident.
The district employee has been relieved of duties at the school pending the results of the investigation.
The school is following the district's Code of Conduct relating to any disciplinary action.
Because this is a personnel matter, the district will make no further comment."
