ELMIRA---(WENY) An Elmira woman is accused of stealing credit card information from customers at a local restaurant where she worked. Jasmine Irvin, 24, is charged with identity theft and unlawful possession of a skimmer device. State Police say Irvine worked at Friendly's Restaurant, and used a hand-held skimmer to copy customers' credit card information. She allegedly used that information to make more than a thousand dollars in illegal purchases. State police say a skimming device can be as small as a lighter and fit in the palm of your hand, and customers should always know where their credit card is, even when paying at a restaurant. State police say just be aware and use common sense.
