      Attorney General Eric Schneiderman is getting New York $715,000.00 to improve environmental and public health in the state. New York is joining seven other states to get more settlement money from American Electric Power, which operates mid-western coal-fired power plants. The payment stems from a 2007 agreement after the company violated the federal Clean Air Act. Coal plant emissions have historically been cited as a cause of acid rain problems in Adirondack lakes and other pollution issues.
