Gov. Corbett Outlines 2014 Budget

PENNSYLVANIA (WENY) -- Governor Corbett laid out his 2014 budget today, calling for an increase in state spending by nearly 4 percent.  The $29.4 billion budget contains no new taxes, but does call for higher fuel taxes and motor vehicle fees.

His plan also calls for an increase on early childhood education spending, and a $5 million increase to expand job training programs in PA.

Governor Corbett would like to extract natural gas from under state-owned parks and forests by drilling on private, adjacent lands.  He estimates that could bring in $75 million in immediate revenue and future royalties.
