Health officials are saying, as many as 13,000 people received steroid shots suspected in the meningitis outbreak

The CDC count of cases reached 105 on Monday, including nine deaths.

The drug was made and distributed by New England Compound Center of Massachusetts.

As we reported, The pharmacy at the center of the meningitis outbreak announced Sunday a voluntary recall of every product it makes.

Health officials say the steroid is contaminated with a fungus that goes from the spinal fluid up to the brain, causing a rare form of meningitis.

Doctor William Shaffner, from Villanova University says, "if there is a silver lining, it's that apparently many people were inoculated but the attack rate is very small... it's really about 1 percent or less. we hope that that continues.. "

Still, Officials say there are no reported cases of meningitis in New York related to steroids.

Both Guthrie and Arnot Health Systems tell WENY TV News that they do *not* use products from the distribution center
