New York Pot Bill

April 29, 2013
New York (WENY) - Newly revised legislation in Albany could mean the state is closer to allowing marijuana then ever before. The measure reintroduced Friday limits the number of diseases that would qualify for marijuana prescriptions.

The new bill narrows conditions to about 20, including cancer, HIV, AIDS, post-traumatic stress disorder, multiple sclerosis and Parkinson's disease. The legislation would also stop patients under the age of 21 from smoking the drug, though it could still be administered in oil form or through a vaporizer.
