PA Judge Suggests Stopping Some of Voter ID Law

HARRISBURG, PA (WENY)---The Commonwealth Court judge taking a second look at Pennsylvania's new voter ID law is suggesting stopping only a very narrow part of the politically charged law.

Judge Robert Simpson heard stories of numerous trips to drivers license centers where clerks were confused by the complicated new ID requirements.

Opponents of the new law hope the testimony persuades the judge that the law could keep people from voting.

Simpson says he may strike wording so that someone who doesn't have photo ID at the polls could still cast a provisional ballot.

The Judge has until Tuesday to make a ruling.
