Sandusky Set to Learn His Sentence

Sandusky Sentence Hearing

BELLEFONTE (WENY)---Jerry Sandusky's sentencing hearing is today and his lawyer says the former penn state football coach will declare his innocence to the court.

Sandusky is in jail, convicted on 45 counts of child sexual abuse.

He might not be alone in speaking up -- Prosecutors say as many as six of Sandusky's victims will be heard at today's hearing.

The 68-year-old Sandusky faces the likelihood of a sentence that would keep him in prison for the rest of his life.

He plans to appeal his conviction on charges he abused 10 boys over 15 years, including attacks inside Penn State athletics facilities.

In a statement his attorney, Joe Amendola says, "What I ancticipate he'll say, is that he's innocent. He doesn't feel, of course, we've raised this issue many, many times before the trial- he doesn't feel that we have nearly enough time to properly and adequately prepare his defense and that's a constitutional issue."
