Schumer Wants to Keep Bills in Buffalo

BUFFALO (WENY) -- New York Senator Chuck Schumer wants to make sure the Buffalo Bills play football in Orchard Park for years to come.
Schumer is calling on the NFL to alter a loan program to help teams renovate their stadiums. It would allow the Bills to access up to $25 million to upgrade Ralph Wilson Stadium.
The current loan system requires full repayment in the event of the sale of a team. While owner Ralph Wilson says he has no intentions of selling the team, there's worry in Buffalo of what could happen when the 93-year-old owner eventually passes away.
Schumer is calling on the NFL to make the loan benefits available to team owners who've been principal owners for at least 20 years.
