Bill to Criminalize Teacher/Student Sexual Activity
Albany (WENY)---The New York Senate Passes a Bill to Protect teenagers.
Monday, the New York Senate passed legislation that would make it a crime for school employees to engage in sexual activity with students.
The bill includes students who are older than 17 years-old, New York's legal age of consent.
A violation would be a class E felony and would carry up to 4 years in prison.
The bill is headed to the Assembly.
