Report of Erratic Driver Leads to Drug Arrest in Elmira

ELMIRA, NY (WENY) - A report of an erratic driver led to a drug arrest in Elmira early Wednesday morning.

Elmira Police conducted a traffic stop after observing the erratic driver. Officers say there was a strong odor of marijuana and asked the driver, Jordan Jones, 25, of Horseheads, to step out of the car. According to police, Jones began to fight with officers after getting out of the car.

Police say they found two different types of pills on Jones' person. They also say they found marijuana, marijuana gummy bears and more pills in Jones' car.

Jones is facing several charges, including Resisting Arrest, 7th degree Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance, 3rd degree Criminal Possession of Marijuana, 4th degree Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance.

He will be arraigned in Elmira City Court.
