A.G. Schneiderman Implements Model Gun Show Procedures
ALBANY---(WENY) New gun safety measures are being implemented to make sure guns stay out of the hands of criminals and the mentally ill.
Attorney General Eric Schneiderman has reached an agreement with 23 gun show operators across New York to follow the new "Model Gun Show Procedures". They're meant to uniform all gun show operations in the state. This means all guns sold by private sellers at gun shows need to be tagged to make sure there's a proper background check.
In a statement, the attorney general says he's proud to be working with gun show operators to ensure deadly weapons don't make it in the hands of felons, terrorists, and the dangerously mentally ill.
