Ash Borer Alert: NY
ELMIRA (WENY)--- Half of New York is now under quarantine because of an invasive beetle that's chewing its way toward the Fingerlakes.
The culprit is the Emerald Ash borer beetle, which is a serious threat to trees. As of May first, 42 counties are under a quarantine.
The state already banned untreated firewood from entering imposed local quarantines and and it's also imposed local quarantines regulating the movement of ash products.
