Twin Tiers (WENY) - An entire city is coming together to honor those involved in last years Boston Marathon tragedy, but warnings this morning of scammers trying to take advantage of the moment. The Better Business Bureau is warning consumers of illegitimate charities and scams surrounding the one-year anniversary of the Boston Marathon Bombing.
    
BBB urges donors to be proactive and find trusted charities. Look for the charity to be registered with a state government agency, if not that's a red flag. Vague descriptions of where the money is going to be uses is another sign. One charity consumers can be sure to trust is the One Fund, a tax-exempt organization The Boston Athletic Association also offers an official list of their participating charities for the 2014 marathon on their website.
