Twin Tiers (WENY) - Steuben County led New York in total deer harvested during the 2012 hunting seasons. In a report released by the Department of Environmental Conservation, hunters in Steuben county killed more than 11,000 deer, including over 5,000 adult bucks. That was by far the most in the state, with Chautauqua County coming behind with about 9,000 deers killed. Statewide, hunters took about 242,000 deer, which was up about six percent from last year.
