Developer Wants Finger Lakes Casino

TYRE, NY (WENY) -- An Upstate New York developer unveiled his plans to build a casino in the Finger Lakes.
Thomas Wilmot wants to build a $350 casino in the town of Tyre, in Seneca County. That's just north of Seneca Falls, off exit 41 on the Thruway.
As we've been reporting, next year, state officials will begin awarding four casino licenses in Upstate New York. At least one could go in the Southern Tier or the Finger Lakes.
Tyre is less than 90 miles from Nichols, where Tioga Downs owner Jeff Gural wants to expand into a full-fledged casino. Another developer, the owners of Traditions at the Glen, also wants to build a casino in Broome County, in the town of Union.
