Food Stamp Fingerprinting

Cuomo and Food Stamps

Albany (WENY)--- Applying for food stamps in New York City is about to get a lot easier.

This after Governor Cuomo announced Thursday to end finger printing requirements for people applying for the Food Stamp program.

Cuomo says, one in six New York children live in homes without enough food on the table and 30 percent of New Yorkers eligible for food stamps don't get them.

That's more than 1.4 million people.

This will go into effect in July.
