Details Emerge on Mohawk Valley Shooter
HERKIMER, NY (WENY) -- Details are coming out about the man who fatally shot four people in two upstate New York villages last week.
State police say 64-year-old Kurt Myers had no money, no job, and was maxed out on his credit cards. But police say they still don't know why Myers opened fire on a barber shop and car care businesses last week in Herkimer and Mohawk. Myers died in a shootout with police Thursday morning, after a standoff in an abandoned bar.
Two of the shooting survivors remain in the hospital, while funerals were held today for two of the fatal victims, and a memorial service was held for the K-9 shot by Myers before being fatally shot by police.
