New Delays In Lifting New York’s Fracking Ban
ALBANY---(WENY) New York's decision to lift a four-year ban on hydraulic fracturing is facing more delay. DEC Commissioner Joe Martens announced Tuesday, that his office needs more time to study the possible health impacts before they release the long-awaited impact study. The deadline of the 4-and-a-half-year-old environmental impact study of high-volume fracking was today, but Martens says that deadline will be missed. This means, the final decision due out February 27th, will also be delayed. Martens did say he expects the review to be done in a few weeks.
