New York Produces 692 Million Pounds of Yogurt

New York (WENY)- The Empire state is now number one in the country for yogurt production.

    Statistics released today show New York producers churned out 692-million pounds of yogurt last year. California came in second, with 587-million pounds.

    Yogurt plants in New York have nearly tripled production in the last five years.

     New York is also the fourth largest milk producer in the country, producing 13-billion pounds in 2012.
