New York Warns Residents On New Strain Of The Flu
New York State (WENY)- Health Officials are warning New Yorkers of a second wave of the flu that is putting more people in the hospital. The department of health said 648 New Yorkers were hospitalized with influenza in the first week of April. Last week there were 2,500 confirmed cases of the flu statewide. Most flu cases were H1N1 which consists of Influenza A, but the latest cases are from a different strain called influenza B. Officials said that people who already had the flu last season, could get it again. The Centers for Disease Control continues to recommend that people get flu shots if they haven't this year.
