New Yorkers To Save On Health Insurance

ALBANY---(WENY) Governor Andrew Cuomo says New Yorkers will save half-a-billion dollars on health insurance premiums this year. The State Department of Financial Services cut the average health insurers increase to 7.5 percent from the average 12.4 percent increase. This new rate affects health insurance policies covering about 2.3 million New Yorkers. Cuomo says more needs to be done to control the cost of health care, which is the underlying reason premiums continue to rise.
