SOUTHERN TIER (WENY) -- A new study shows the number of New York children with health insurance is growing and driven mostly by increased coverage through public forums.
The Robert Wood Johnson Foundation report released Thursday shows the percentage children without insurance dropped from 5.6% in 2008 to 4.3% in 2012.
Nationally, the percentage of uninsured children went down from 9.7% to 7.5%. It shows significant growth among minority children and children in low-income families.
