NY And PA Dropout Rates Decline

WASHINGTON---(WENY) A new federal report says the high school dropout rate dipped in both Pennsylvania and New York, continuing a decline over the past decade. The new report by the Department of Education found the graduation rate nationally, is at 78 percent. In pennsylvania, 84 percent of high schoolers graduated, making it the lowest drop out rate in a decade at 2.1 percent. And it's the same story in New York. New York's dropout rate dipped to 3.6 percent, compared to 5.5 percent back in 2003.
