NY Senate Republicans Seek Family Tax Rebate
ALBANY---(WENY) New York Senate Republicans are proposing a plan they say will give a major boost to middle class families in New York.
Monday, Senate Republican Leader Dean Skelos and members of the Senate Republican Conference unveiled the Family Tax Relief Act. It's meant to increase tax credits for the middle class and restore STAR Property Tax Rebate checks for millions of New Yorkers who pay some of the highest property taxes in the country.
Senate Republicans say the plan would increase tax breaks that haven't kept up with inflation and, in some cases, haven't been adjusted for more than 25 years.
