PA Watersheds Get Millions in Grant Money

HARRISBURG---(WENY) The Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection is also giving out grants. Wednesday, DEP announced that it will invest more than $18.7 million in watershed protection projects in 40 counties.

     This year, the Growing Greener program, funded by the Environmental Stewardship Fund will account for more than $13million for 78 projects in the state. The projects aim to minimize pollution in streams affected by agricultural practices and storm water and restore damaged waterways. In the northern tier, the wysox creek watershed association in Bradford county received over $244,000.00. The Babb Creek Watershed Assocoiation along with the Tioga County Conservation District, both in Tioga County, received over $160,000.00.
