Sandusky Trial: Opening Statements Set for Today
BELLEFONTE (WENY)---Opening statements are set for today in the Penn. State sex abuse scandal.
Testimony in the child sex abuse case will focus on the 52 counts and 10 accusers.
The 68-year-old former Penn State assistant football coach could, if convicted, spend the rest of his life behind bars.
For the first time, Sandusky will face his accusers inside the Centre County Courthouse.
Philadelphia Lawyer, Michael Boni, who represents Victim one, says, "He's unequivocal in knowing what happened to him, suffering the unspeakable crimes committed against him, and he will tell his story."
Whatever happens in this trial, this likely is not the last we will hear of Jerry Sandusky.
Federal officials are conducting their own investigation as is Penn State, the Big 10 and the NCAA.
