New York (WENY) - Governor Cuomo is trying to bring as much tourism to New York State as he can, and a report yesterday shows just how well he's doing. Nine million more visitors came to New York this year compared to 2012.
In a press release from the Governors Office New York's Tourism Industry Generated $7.7 Billion in State & Local Taxes and Added 2,00 Jobs in 2013. Cuomo isn't done yet. Cuomo wants even more for 2014. This year saw the largest contribution towards increasing tourism with $60 million going towards events such as a new “I Love NY” marketing campaign and “Taste NY” marketing efforts.
