New York (WENY) - Governor Cuomo wants serious changes and upgrades to the train system in New York city after four deaths and dozens were injured on a train that derailed in the Bronx last week. Cuomo directed the Metropolitan Transportation Authority to expedite speed controls for areas vulnerable to crashes

Cuomo also wants to speed up efforts to install technology called "positive train control," that technology can automatically bring a train to a stop if it's exceeding a speed limit. The U.S. Department of Transportation's Federal Railroad Administration issued a rare Emergency Order to begin installing automatic train speed control systems for certain areas.
