Pennsylvanians can expect a rise in gas taxes and other driver fees.

Northern Tier (WENY) - Pennsylvanians can expect a rise in gas taxes and other driver fees. All in an effort to spend fix roads, bridges and mass transit systems. On Monday the Pennsylvania state house voted down a $2.3 Billion dollar transportation bill. Tuesday the house passed it.
This bill would pay $1.8 billion for roads and bridges, nearly $500 million for mass transit, and $144 million for rail freight, ports and airports over the next 4 and a half years. The bill is actually an amendment. Which means it has to go to the Senate Appropriations Committee where it would be incorporated into another bill.
The Senate is expected to adopt it. If a final bill reaches Corbett's desk, it would be the state's largest transportation increase since the 1997.
