ELMIRA, NY (WENY) - The Chemung County Sheriff's Office has made an arrest in connection to the Draht Hill Road homicide investigation.

Kimani Meadows, 40, has been charged with murder in the death of 33-year-old Robyn Roper.

On December 14, 2016, Deputies responded to Draht Hill Road in the Town of Elmira for what was initially reported as a motor vehicle accident. When deputies arrived on scene, they found that no motor vehicle accident had happened. The victim was lying in the roadway, dead from apparent gunshot wounds.

Meadows was arraigned Friday morning in Chemung County Court and charged with 2nd degree Murder and Criminal Possession of a Weapon.

Meadows' bail was set at $250,000 cash. He was returned to the Chemung County Jail where he was being held on unrelated charges. He's accused of shooting a man multiple times in the leg, torso, arm, and face in December of 2016. He's charged with attempted murder and assault in that case.
