Southern Tier, N.Y. (WENY)-- New York State is awarding $23 million dollars in grants to support 12 drinking water and wastewater infrastructure projects throughout the Southern Tier.
Under the Clean Water Infrastructure Act of 2017, these grants are part of $255 million in funding available for municipalities across the state to support critical water quality infrastructure projects. In the Southern Tier, $23 million in grant funds will leverage $71 million in total project costs and provide nearly $43 million in taxpayer savings. This investment will also create 1,160 jobs across the region.
The following local Southern Tier Municipalities are receiving grants:
Steuben County: Village of Addison- $1,056,129
Town of Erwin- $277.003
Village of Painted Post- $253,912
Village of Wayland- $3,000,000
Schuyler County: Village of Odessa- $691,375
Tompkins County: Village of Trumansburg- $1,625,000
