ELMIRA, N.Y. (WENY) -- The Shabach Tabernacle Church is hosting their annual community thanksgiving feast and they need your help.
The church is holds the feast every year on Thanksgiving and they're looking for volunteers and donations.
The feast gives about two-hundred and fifty to three-hundred local residents a hot meal on Thanksgiving
The volunteers and church members cook up all the makings of a thanksgiving dinner, from turkey to desserts.
"We welcome everyone," said Shabach Tabernacle Church Deacon, Terry Clayborn. "Also we will deliver for the elderly, anybody sick and shut in. All they would have to do is give us a call and we'll take care of them."
But for church officials, it's all about seeing people come together and make a difference in the lives of others.
"It's basically to put smiles on people's faces," said Clayborn. "For me, it's my favorite holiday and we love to see the people coming in and eat and come out and enjoy a meal and fellowship and just enjoy ourselves."
If you'd like to learn more about volunteering or donating to the event, please call Clayborn at (607) 734-4658 or Sister Susie at (607) 331-2903.
