BEATTY, NV (WENY) -- Deputies from the Nye County Sheriff's Office (NCSO) arrested an Elmira man in connection with the disappearance of a woman. Around 8:30PM, dispatch received a call from a citizen about a woman with several injuries after a physical altercation at a local motel in Beatty.
Upon arrival, deputies found the 25-year-old victim who reported that her boyfriend, Jon Turner, 23, beat and choked her during an altercation and left her unconscious on a nearby street. She claims after she regained consciousness, Turner took her to the local motel where they were staying and handcuffed her to some furniture. She says Turner continued to beat and choke her and eventually injured her with a hatchet.

Officials say, at some point, Turner forced the victim to leave New York and threatened to kill her if she didn't cooperate,
The victim's vehicle was eventually abandoned as they crossed the country, and was later discovered by officials in Big Bear, California. Officials say the family of the victim had no information as to where she was as Turner blocked all forms of communication with them.
Upon further investigation, Turner and the victim had spent time in Las Vegas before arriving to Beatty. The victim claims Turner sexually assaulted her during their approximately two weeks in Beatty.
Detectives served a search warrant of the hotel room where Turner and the victim were staying. There, they found evidence in connection with the allegations made by the victim.
The victim has been treated at a Las Vegas hospital. Turner was arrested and booked into the Nye County Detention Center on charges of battery domestic violence with strangulation, battery with a deadly weapon, assault with a deadly weapon, false imprisonment, sexual assault and kidnapping in the first degree.
