UPDATE: Dangerous Sex Offender Back Behind Bars

UTICA, NY (WENY) - A dangerous sex offender living in Utica is back behind bars, after being arrested in Binghamton, Saturday afternoon.

Police across the state had been looking for him because they say, he cut off his GPS tracking device and stopped reporting to his parole officer.

According to the New York State Department of Corrections and Community Supervision, 66-year-old Ronald Cook is considered to be a dangerous man. Between Thursday and Saturday, Cook was spotted in Rome, New York and in Scranton, Pennsylvania.

According to New York's Sex Offender Registry, Cook was convicted of 1st degree Rape in 1991. He's a level 3 violent sex offender.

Cook is currently being held in Broome County Jail and will be sent back to  Central New York where he'll face criminal charges.
