BATH, N.Y. (WENY) -- Veterans at the VA had their own special ceremony honoring their service.
The hospital hosted its annual "Veterans Day Concert" featuring the Mountaineer Brass Band from Mansfield University.
Patients at the hospital, along with their families and other veterans, could go and watch the performance.
The band played popular tunes like "American Pie" and "the Ballade of the Green Berets".
"There are veterans who are in the nursing home and the rehab facility that's here who are here full-time and there's not a lot of contact with even Bath out here sometimes," said Mansfield University music department chair and Mountaineer Brass Band conductor, Nathan Rinnert. "So this is really important for the folks here on this campus for us to come and do this. My students have a great education by coming in and offering this service."
The concert was held in the hospital's auditorium.
After the concert, Veterans and members of the band were able to talk with one another and exchange stories.
