ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WENY) - A Beaver Dams man convicted of federal drug charges in relation to a Southern Tier drug ring has been sentenced.
40-year-old Scott Kennedy pleaded guilty to conspiracy to manufacture, possess with intent to distribute, and to distribute, 500 grams or more of a mixture or substance containing methamphetamine. Chief U.S. District Judge Frank Geraci sentenced Kennedy to 235 months in prison.
According to prosecutors, Kennedy conspired to manufacture and distribute methamphetamine between June 2012 and May 2016. He distributed large amounts of methamphetamine with and to people throughout the area of Schuyler, Chemung, and Steuben Counties in New York. Prosecutors say Kennedy personally manufactured large amounts of meth at his home in Catlin and on a property maintained by his sister in the Town of Dix.
Kennedy also received assistance from numerous co-conspirators who provided him with supplies with the intent that he would use those supplies to manufacture methamphetamine.
